Originally from the northwest, Kathy graduated from Washington State University and the Intercollegiate Center of Nursing in 1996, receiving leadership honors by both peers and faculty respectively. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Colorado and worked in the outdoor industry prior to focusing her energies into Emergency Medicine at Denver Health Medical Center. Recognized within the nursing profession in Colorado, Kathy was pursued by Regis University to teach nursing students both clinically and academically. Completing her Masters in Nursing Education, she continued teaching in the academic setting as well as working professionally in acute care medicine, receiving highest reviews at both. While in Denver, Kathy established new clinical sites and initiated programs for serving the underprivileged in the Denver Metro area, ultimately receiving endorsement from the Denver Broncos. She completed her Family Nurse Practitioner with highest honors in 2007. Kathy has had a myriad of experiences to round out her nursing career, enjoying the path and where it has led. Once asked to co-author a chapter with a physician on managing dermatologic emergencies, Kathy’s interest in dermatology was piqued and has since remained. Married and with four children, Kathy is thankful to return to many friends and family here in the Spokane area where adventure abounds. It is most certainly an added bonus to work alongside the providers and staff at Advanced Dermatology.
