![]() Joseph Cvancara , M.D. is a dermatologic surgeon who specializes in treatments for skin cancers and aging skin. Dr. Cvancara is a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon from the professionally respected American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS) (www.mohscollege.org). This year-long medical center-based fellowship consisted of advanced training in cancer removal and reconstruction, lasers, and cosmetic fillers. Dr. Cvancara is a native of the Inland Northwest, having grown up on a farm near Genesee , Idaho . He received his undergraduate degree in Bacteriology from the University of Idaho in 1987, graduating Summa cum Laude. Dr. Cvancara attended medical school as an Air Force officer at the F. Edward Hébert School of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda , Maryland . After graduating in 1992 with highest honors and completing a transitional internship in San Antonio , he served for three years as a flight surgeon. During this time he deployed to Riyadh , Saudi Arabia . In 1996, he entered his three year dermatology residency at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center and Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio , TX . After residency he served for 4 years as Chief of Dermatology at David Grant USAF Medical Center , Travis AFB, near Fairfield,California. Dr. Cvancara received his American College of Mohs Surgery fellowship training at Deaconess-Billings Clinic and joined Advanced Dermatology and Skin Surgery in 2004. He has published numerous professional articles, a textbook chapter, and has given six professional presentations to his peers at national meetings Dr. Cvancara, along with his wife Anne and four daughters, enjoys the great outdoors, especially hiking, camping and fishing.
