Richard S. Herdener,   MD


Dr. Herdener was raised in Vancouver, Washington; schooled at Seattle University and the University of Washington School of Medicine.  He was trained in dermatology at the Naval Hospital in San Diego.  Dr. Herdener came to Spokane in 1987, after ten years in the US Navy.  The Inland Empire has become his "adopted" home - he loves it here.

Dr. Herdener loves to care for patients presenting with a broad range of skin problems.  He has a keen interest in treating psoriasis; occupational dermatitis; acne; and all types of eczema.  Dr. Herdener offers extended skills cosmetically as well.  You can find out more information about his expertise in these areas by visiting these our web pages on aesthetics and our skin care center. 

Outside the office, Dr. Herdener with Anita, his wife of 35 years, has a passion for golf, tennis and gardening.

Christina Marino, MD

Dr. Marino was raised in Whittier, California and is new to the Spokane area.  She graduated from California State University, Fullerton and received her medical degree at the University of California, San Diego.   She completed her dermatology training at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine, which included a one year National Institute of Health research fellowship in dermatology.  She practiced for over 6 years in clinical dermatology in Lexington, Kentucky. 

In 1992, she moved to Washington, DC.  While in Washington, she completed a four year research fellowship with the National Cancer Institute in the field of cancer prevention and control.  She received a Masters in Public Health degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine.  She moved to Seattle in 1997 and continued working for the National Cancer Institute on a research grant involving breast cancer prevention in Appalachia. Recently she worked as an epidemiologist for the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries in occupational dermatology research.  

Dr. Marino is board certified with the American Board of Dermatology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.  She enjoys working with all age groups and is especially interested in contact dermatitis and occupational dermatology.

Dr. Marino has a passion for cooking.  She completed professional training in the culinary arts and pastry at the L’Academie de Cuisine in Bethesda, MD while living in Washington, DC.  She co-wrote a cookbook entitled The Cancer Survival Cookbook.  She also enjoys making greeting cards, gardening and collecting antique cooking utensils and restaurant ware and fixing my craftsman bungalow house for the historic register.  She looks forward to living in Spokane with Phillip Jones, her husband of over 25 years.

 


Trent Lengl, PAC
 


Trent I. Lengl, PA-C, was raised in Ohio and received both his Bachelor and Masters degrees in Science / Physician Assistant studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.  He served in both the United States Marine Corps and Air Force and commissioned as an Officer in 1992.  While in the military he practiced medicine in Washington DC, New Mexico, Ohio, Croatia and Idaho.  He retired from the Air Force in 2000 and practiced at the Boise VA hospital before moving to Spokane.   

Trent is a member of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, Washington State Medical Association, American Academy of Physician Assistants, Society of Air Force Physician Assistants.

Trent is full of energy and enjoys seeing all types of general dermatology conditions however he has a special interest in adolescent acne, skin growths, warts and nail conditions. 

Outside the office, Trent and his family enjoy spending time outdoors and plan to take full advantage of what Spokane and the surrounding areas have to offer.

Kerry Dasovich, RN Esthetician  

 


Kerry has lived in Spokane most of her life.  She graduated from Spokane Community College in 1984 with a AAS Degree in Cosmetology/Aesthetics.  She has worked with Dr. Herdener since 1989.  She started in the PUVA treatment center and then moved into health care assisting.  She graduated in 2004 from Spokane Community College as an Registered Nurse and most recently passed the Dermatology Nursing Association certification exam.  She has combined all her skills to give people the best skin care possible.  She has been trained to do lasers, chemical peeling, micro dermabrasion, professional make-up and much more.

Kerry has been married for twenty years to her husband Jesse.  They have two children Lauren and Mitchell.  She likes to spend her free time with her family especially watching them BMX race. She also enjoys remodeling their home and working outside in the yard.
